Desert sand (#EDC9AF) is a light warm shade that appears across 18 master palettes in our corpus, most prominently in the work of Herrad of Landsberg, William Parrott, and Keisai Eisen and the Romanesque tradition. Master painters paired it most often with Raisin black (#242124), Rich black (#010203), and Dark sienna (#3C1414). The combination forms a soft, sunlit chord, built on a split-complementary spread, spans a mixed temperature range, with a sharp light/dark contrast that lets the darker companions read as depth.
